Empowering   Growth with Positive Behaviour Support

About Us

Supporting and Empowering Individuals

At Behaviour Support, we understand that life can feel overwhelming, whether you’re a parent supporting a child with challenging behaviours, a carer trying to hold everything together, or an individual living with disability and looking for a way forward.

You’re doing your best, and you don’t have to do it alone. We’re here to walk beside you.

Our team is committed to helping children and adults with disabilities, behavioural difficulties, or mental health struggles, live with greater freedom, dignity, and real possibility.

We use a strengths-based approach grounded in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), a proven, person-centred method that focuses on reducing distress, building independence, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

We take time to understand what’s going on beneath the surface, not just the behaviour, but the person behind it. Then we work together with you and your support network, whether that’s family, teachers, housemates, or support workers, to design practical, personalised strategies that truly make a difference.

Whether you need help getting through a tough season or you're ready to make long-term changes, our experienced and compassionate team is here to support you every step of the way. With Behaviour Support, you’ll find not just answers, but understanding, partnership, and hope.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

What is it?

What is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)?

When behaviours feel confusing, exhausting, or hard to manage, it can be difficult to know where to start, especially when you’ve already tried so much. Whether you're supporting a loved one or navigating life with a disability yourself, know this: there is a better way forward.

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a compassionate, evidence-based approach that helps us understand the reasons behind behaviour, not just what’s happening, but why it's happening. Instead of relying on quick fixes or consequences, PBS focuses on long-term, meaningful change through understanding, skill-building, and support.

PBS takes into account the whole person, their environment, communication, emotions, and needs, and uses this insight to develop personalised strategies that:

  • reduce distress and prevent escalation,

  • teach new, helpful skills that make life more manageable,

  • adjust surroundings to create a sense of safety, predictability, and empowerment.

  •

Rooted in research and used across disability, education, and mental health settings, PBS has helped thousands of people live with greater confidence, connection, and wellbeing. It’s not about blame or control, it’s about kindness, clarity, and giving people the support they need to thrive.

Our Mission

At Behaviour Support, our mission is to create safe, respectful spaces where individuals with disabilities, and those who support them, feel heard, valued, and empowered.

We exist to break down the barriers that make life harder, and to respond with practical, person-centred solutions that honour each person’s story. Through collaboration, care, and deep listening, we help people navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and move forward with purpose.

We’re not here to fix people. We’re here to support growth, restore hope, and walk alongside you in building a life that feels truly your own.
